The package from Moscow arrived today with a 16mm Zenitar fisheye and a 50mm Industar 50-2. Expect my car review photos to get a whole lot more insufferable.
For some reason or another I can't get the aperture to adjust on the fisheye on the camera body or off, so it may be busted. I'll have to see if I need to take it somewhere to get assessed or fixed. It'll be nice to not be stuck wide open, as everything is a little soft focus at f2.8. Regardless, it's a fun lens and my interior shots are going to look painfully awful painfully soon.
Looking forward to trying out the Industar more, as all the tiny controls make the thing quite fiddly. Still, it's tiny! Fits my little Olympus very well.

Well, every thing looks better with a fisheye lens. Also I am disappointed that your package from Moscow wasn't a nuclear missile with a dashcam strapped to it.

And the 30mm Arsat fisheye on a Kiev 60...
I also have a 30mm full frame that I use on my Pentax 67 II ....

I wanted the big Pentax for years...I guess it was 10 years ago when the pros really made the big move to digital and dumped the film gear that the Pentax got affordable. And for once in my life I actually bought at the bottom of the market. Great great camera...a 6x7 black and white negative is a joy to behold; a 6x7 chrome is a religious experience.
If you ever get down here to the Raleigh/Durham area let me know...we'll drag out the toys.
Oh, and this is my Kiev with the Arsat hanging on it. I bought it from Hartblei back when this was one of the cheap ways to get into medium format. There were some, um, language issues. I ordered it with vinyl; email arrived saying they'd made 'with leather' by accident and was that OK? I said sure. Wasn't expecting the leopard skin looking stuff...camera was promptly dubbed Superfly.

Sweet! I was looking at the industar before buying my voigtlander 34 2.5! Get lots of shots so I can tell if I want to buy one. If I don't like them then atleast only you spent your money on it!

I got the Industar somewhere last year, and I wanted to be a bit too smart and future proof, so got it for M42, and only found out later that M39 uses a tiny adapter (on Fuji X/Sony E) and M42 has this relatively massive thing So might get an M39 version with new adapter now.

Alex, if you change ever decide you want an Industar 50-2, I'll sell mine (with hood) for $30 + shipping within the US. I'll also toss in the m42 -> NEX adapter for $5 or something. I have several decent 50s, so I don't use it much.

Nice! The older Soviet lenses are mostly a great deal (Helios 40-2 aside, which is still a good deal), and the 50-2 is awesome. I loved it on my Canon due to it's size and Cyrillic lettering. Plus, the stamp from Moscow was pretty.
I recommend looking for a hood for yours if you didn't get one. It adds a bit to the size, but definitely helps the handling.
